So apparently I've reached the shameful age where friends of my aunt think it's legit to try and set me up with guys. Criteria so far: guys from the same institute I graduated.
Are you trying to genetically engineer a race of engineers?!

Well, if you don't want children anyway, then there is no time pressure, so what.

If you do, however, then time may be unexpectedly short because single women in their early 30s where the ticking biological clock causes baby rabies make frightening dates.

@Fast-Nop There are less stressful ways of conceiving today, that does not include years of pointless and super awkward dating. Thank you technology and sperm donors.

    I don't want kids though :)

@NickyBones Anonymous donors don't provide enforceable additional family income like a real man does, that's why this method has never taken off.

But I guess your relatives are in for a little shock to find out that you don't want kids. ^^

@Fast-Nop They'll be shocked only if they're deaf. Anyway, quite a lot of women choose to have kids without a partner where I live. I think with women joining the work force, and in more financially-rewarding professions, this trend will grow.

Read two tags as one: “family engineering” would fit, too.

@NickyBones Quite interesting I would expect adoptions but kids from anonymous donors ? That's a surprise, instead of a donor I would probably want to have a clone of myself if I was in a situation where it was possible

@Marnsghol that wouldn't work for me, I can barely stand myself.
    @Fast-Nop true true

@NickyBones have you told them to stop?

@NickyBones If it is the complications of pregnancy or raising a child that makes you not want a child, it would be great if you can donate your embryo for a test tube baby.

I'm kind of concerned about educated people not wanting to procreate nowadays. That could turn out to be a real problem with human evolution.

@HoloDreamer Dude, we already lost the battle. I rather just enjoy my life without unnecessary commitments, instead of reproduce in hopes of saving humanity from itself.

@HoloDreamer There was a movie like that right ? The guy accidentally cryogenically freezes himself for an X amount of time and sees the world became a lot stupider in the future. It was an interesting movie but I am doubtful that world will go that route, but that just might be me wish thinking

@Marnsghol Are you talking about the movie Idiocracy? That's exactly what came to my mind.

With article 13 and diversity stunt last week, it looks like we are gonna go straight down that road.

@HoloDreamer high intelligence just is a negative factor in procreation. Both for men and women, though the reasons and dynamics are different.

Strictly speaking, parental intelligence is a result of multiple factors, of which a significant proportion are not genetic. Intelligence is as much nurture as nature, so in light of the overpopulation problem I rather respect those who don't have children.

@monr0e Nowadays, parenting has gotten way harder. So if you wanna do it right, it's a full time job. Most people don't realize they have to invest so much in a kid, and the results...pretty depressing.
