I think my worst trait is my lack of organization outside a work environment

I spent a few hours cleaning my old hard drives and I freed up 600GB of just duplicate files. Everything from driver backups and progam exe's to simple text documents

Most were in subfolders of a folder named some variation of 'sort_later' :/ oof

I have the same problem. Now and then when I'm running low on space I dig down into the massive labyrinth of around 18 years of backups from 10 different computers and start deleting stuff that I never should have kept.

i feel that. got 6tb of storage at home and it is such a mess >.<

started setting up nextcloud in my local cluster. i want to put everythin in there without duplicates but it is a hell of a work. want to put elastic search onto that for text search but it seems like my cluster is too small to handle that amount of resources xD

Who even uses "backup drives" anymore ?

Just pay ANY online storage (OneDrive, DropBox, Google drive, whatever)

Right now, if my PC or SSD dies, I don't care.

    Programs : Reinstall from internet
    Data : in onedrive
Coding projects : GitHub + Azure devops

Literally, I wouldn't lose a thing if my pc burst in fire, just some time to setup a new one.
