Is posting your setup still a thing on devRant? Because I finally have one of my own now - not too fancy but works well for me. My humble abode :)28

I just finished watching Silicon Valley and I'm so bummed at the ending. 😒
WHY DIDN'T ERLICH BACHMAN COME BACK? Like I really really expected him to come back and throw Jian Yang out of the incubator and yell at him for being a total ass.6 -
Changed the battery and extended the RAM; 6 years old dying laptop resurrected.
What a great day 🤗13 -
I JUST typed a huge-ass happy post on LinkedIn and right after I hit the "Post" button, my feed got refreshed and there was no sign of my post getting published... Wtf 😡
NOT typing it all again. Nope.2 -
I have my personal motivator @YourNemesis to help me through the days when my self-motivation doesn't work at all.
I usually try and identify the reason for low motivation or no motivation at all, then talk myself through it and remind myself of my goals and what I want for myself. My goals motivate me.
I also have different motivational quotes/one liners up on my room's door and my cupboards door. Attaching an image of one such things that I wrote by myself and looking at it works for me on highly unproductive days. Hope this approach helps to some of you guys too on here.3 -

It's so annoying when people put up cover videos in the name of tutorials and don't even mention what chords they used 😣4 -
We need to fill a Google form for some formalities at college. They want us to fill our parents' anniversary date as well. Why the fuck?
Thankfully, the field is not marked as compulsory to fill else I'd be paranoid as hell (still am tho).8 -
How are practical exams conducted in your university (if you're still a student)?
I'm dreading tomorrow. So I have a practical exam tomorrow and usually in my university, they first ask us to write the solution code on a paper, get it approved from the invigilator (who by the way ignorantly approves everybody's code without checking) and then only we are allowed to actually execute our code and get it approved again from the examiner.
It's been three years now and I still don't get the point of first writing the code on the paper (as if we didn't already have theory exams expecting us to write it all on paper) and then executing it....8 -
I SWEAR THIS JUST HAPPENED:
My Teacher: *Sends a random programming question to solve on the class group*
Fellow Classmate: *sends solution within a minute*
My Teacher: Good, but everybody knows how to use the internet only a few know how to use the brain. We now know which category you belong to.

Self-validation.
I'm not the kind who got intrigued by coding and started exploring it. I did not even study computer science in school. I mostly taught myself how to code from various sources after I got into college and till date I feel highly under-confident in a group of devs because I perpetually keep thinking I'm not as good as them. So the biggest challenge I have faced and continue to face is constantly putting myself down (in my head) even when I know I'm fairly good at what I know.6 -
*MOTHER OF FACEPALM *
I was filling up some university entrance exam form for my sister AND THEY SENT THE LOGIN CREDENTIALS IN PLAIN TEXT VIA A FUCKING SMS. The password that I JUST set myself. What the FUCK!9 -
I had used MS Paint for the very first time in school during my computers class when I was 5 (somewhere in 2002) and I loved making sceneries on it :P So I requested my dad to buy me a computer for my 6th birthday and he did!! The old huge bulky boxed system that ran Windows 98!
We owned this system till 2014 when we finally decided to sell it off because it couldn't get modified anymore.2 -
When you(Read: I) really want to use Raspberry pi for a new project but realize you (Read: I) can't afford it...12

This is what being a security enthusiast does to you.
A little background : This is our team's designer who asked me to send him one of my pictures to put on my ID Card (that he is designing) for the event that I'm organizing along with my team. I have known him for about 2 years now but well, security awareness gave me trust issues because I apparently asked him to delete the picture he is finally using for my ID Card after he is done with the work. He must be thinking I'm crazy.
P.s. I still don't know if he actually deleted it or not but let's just give him the benefit of doubt and try to live in oblivion.19 -
No indentation hurts my eyes x__x
P.s. This is actually someone from my college who is apparently in his last year of completing his Bachelors in Computer Science...7 -
My mom just showed me this on her facebook news feed and said, " Look <insert nickname>, it's the same "e" browser you've asked me not to use !!"9

Best: I pushed myself to learn better about the field I am in and want to pursue. Also accomplished a few achievements because of my extra efforts.
Worst: It ruined my sleep cycle.
But it's all paying off. -

!!SecurityArticle
I wrote an article about how common practices make us vulnerable to security breaches and what steps to take to prevent them. Thought I'd share it here. Any kind of feedback is most welcomed!

I'm the kind of coder who likes her brackets{
Better this way;

Literally posting this so I could get those 10 points followed by an avatar.
Hello to all the fellow ranters from a newbie(definitely not a noobie).
P.s. Python lovers, don't get to my bracket.26
