A web application platform for a college programming group

Description

We are planning on getting it done in a month or so and maintaining and upgrading it later on. I have planned a few useful features like direct link sharing via chrome extension, post and hackathon list for each sub division we have. Students can ask for workshop on specific topics and stuff like that. Could someone please suggest some ideas other than the mainstream stuff that i will put in anyway...

I'm all for competition, if you guys think you can do it better than go for it.
