@Gerrymandered Pretty sure I had that update waiting for me to do manually and some other routine updates as well, but was still pretty funny when I clicked the option to specifically avoid updating and was immediately met with an update screen.

@matsaki95 there is a way to avoid the update by holding the shift(?) key while clicking on exit, right clicking on the start menu, terminal or just pressing the power button shortly.
These are all safe ways to avoid an update.
Had two choices: shut down and update, or shut down.
Clicked shut down.
Working on updates, 30% complete.
