I hate the process of trying to get hydrated when I’ve gone through a period of apparently thinking I’m a cactus.

When I don’t drink water at all, I feel fine. No dry mouth, no symptoms of dehydration.

I *start* trying to hydrate and it’s like my body thinks this is the best time to start giving me all those dehydration symptoms it doesn’t even bother with when I’m not drinking water because it’s just given up on me listening to them.

I drank 64 oz of water yesterday and woke up with my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth and my throat scratchy.

I know that I need to keep drinking water in large quantities for a period of time for my body to chill the fuck out again, but words can’t describe how tempting it is to just go back to being a cactus.

Hydrating sucks.

@joewilliams007 I can’t help it that my water bottles measure in ounces, friend. 😅

    0.5 US gallons?
    0.416337 Imperial gallons?
    1.89271 liters?
    1892.71 milliliters?

@AmyShackles Just 1.8 litres of water and you call that hydrating? I do that much in just a couple of drinking sessions. My intake is around 3-4 litres which is the generally accepted average water intake per day.

You really need to level up your intake. Drink atleast 3 litres per day. You will feel energised. Your body will thank you.

I thought it was just hyperfixation making me ignore pretty much everything else, but I prefer your cactus theory.

@Cyanide it depends on where you live and what you do. And what you eat. Any water consumed in food counts towards the total, obviously. Drinking that much can be excessive in the winter. You may end up losing too much salts with the water. It's best to just drink whenever you're thirsty.

@AmyShackles you've been breathing through your mouth and the air in your house is probably pretty dry. Getting a humidifier could help.

@electrineer I guess for starters 1.8 litres is fine. Body will ask for more if needed.
