Because I work for the biggest German ISP I saw much MUCH ugly Server Rooms, but nothing compared to this one... My deepest sympathy
-
w4tsn33837y@Rohr I'm so sorry!
But actually I'd make your ears bleed too, if I could upload an audio file with the servers screams -
Rohr7307y@justwellbrock I am sure you would ^^ know that sound of screaming fans. Had a blade with malfunctioning temp sensors and the fans has gone nuts at 30k rpm ... Actually the sound was kinda satisfying with the knowledge that the server is not going to melt ^^

I don't know how everyone else does this, but we recently bought a temperature sensor for our server room, so now we all get an email notification when the temperature in the room goes above 26C.

Rohr7307y@Gnu-Not-Unix Sure!!! EVERY serverroom needs one!!
Do not know if there is a serverroom rulebook but monitoring the room temperature is one of the basics!
This fucktard of a 'stick that facility management up your arse' manager.
He insisted 'no cooling required. Trust me'.
While we insisted 'how dare you to asume our servers temperatures'!
We moved our servers to a new /tmp/office/ yesterday. Was quite fun, until we saw this...
Doorhandle is hot as fuck, 50 degrees air temperature, all servers in heat error state. Thank you, you damn fucktards! Take this cactus 🌵 and stick it up your arse!!
Can't work like that.
