I have a decently fast connection. 150mbps
But the max speed I have had is 5 Mbps after which it drops. No consistency in downloading

@esaysimyan yup. It is basically a way to change the source of data for steam. Sometimes, I had better luck with location further than were I actually live.

@esaysimyan well that's sad given your speed. Interestingly, your hard drive usage looks flat. Not sure if it means anything.
I'd say you have connections issues, but that doesn't help you. Or maybe steam is having some issues, I really don't know 🤔 If changing the region didn't help, I'm afraid their isn't much we can do here.

Wasn't there a status page for steam? Maybe steam encountered some problems and you are searching for nothing on you side...

Over the weekend my steam was also messing up, could be the alsame thing? Congestion maybe.

@esaysimyan Okay. Still, it seems it's an issue with writing to your drives. Steam can't seem to output the data onto the drive faster (green line in your picture, it indicates the write speed)

@esaysimyan Well ... Makes sense to me ... First "fast" untill the drive cache is full ... Then slow writing down to disk.

Try copy files (one large is better than 1000 small) from one to the other drive. Monitor transfer rate.

The problem was with my router.

Asus rt68u. I had to reset it and it fixed the issue.

It was my router. Don't know what was wrong though. Just reset and re configuration and it's working fine now.
