Hey, @dfox

Is there anything we can do to help?
We miss you, and we want to keep devRant alive too.

    DevRant code should be Open Sourced. Then we could really help

    He got a brazzers subscription and hasn't been seen in 4 years.

    Who's dfox?!

    @lopu That comment speaks volumes.

    We could make a devrant2 that's a clone, but that also allows you to login to devrant1 and merge the content.

    That would allow us to stay connected as the platform dies.

    @lungdart this reminds me of my current attempt to put my alternative devRant app into the iOS App Store:

    Apple Review: "You can't have the subtitle 'a devRant client' because it contains a reference to another app. This violates our Copycat Apps rule"
    😒

    My attempts to explain that it’s not supposed to be a copycat but is actually an alternative client, were ignored so far.

    We should make devrant with blackjack and hooker.

    We should remake devrant in rust /s

    @Lensflare how do the Reddit readers get around this?
  • 4
    @jeeper I thought the same. I don’t know. This is so ridiculous.

    @trogus @dfox, I hope you guys are doing ok

    @asgs considering they only drop in on occasion, I imagine they are loving life right now

    @jeeper They don't, you heard about the apollo thing right with API charges???
  • 2
    @davide how does it being open source help? This will only bring up other instances? Their API is easy and documented already. And the server code itself, isnt difficult to code in a week yourself. The technologies behind their app is deprecated. So a new client is in need anyways.

    @joewilliams007 I want to preserve devRant, not replace it.

    Are we at the stage of spreading unsubstantiated rumors yet?

    Just shot him a Twitter DM, hopefully he replies 🤞🏽

    Side note - it’s good to be back after over a year and still see some OGs like @Root on here. Long live devRant!

    @T3chnician Any responses?

    @Root none yet unfortunately. I’m connected with him on LinkedIn too and from the looks of it, I think they’re more focused on their current roles, which I understand. I hope there’s movement on it soon though.

    @T3chnician Thanks. I really appreciate it.
