Any bikers around here?

I recently bought my first motor bike ( super cheap ) and I'm excited to add some enhancements to it like GPS logging and collect relevant data about my bike.

Have you don't anything similar to your ride? I would like to put my Dev skills and improve my bike as a hobby.

    Sweet ride, man.

    (Apologies for not adding anything to the conversation)

    Add a dynamo to the rear wheel and use the electricity so generated for running a mini cryptocurrency miner.

    @RememberMe sounds good, doesn't work. You'll only be burning more petrol.

    @codepoet True :D

    A slightly more sophisticated system which extracts energy from the exhaust gases or something would probably be a better idea.

    @saintograph that's not my ride tho 😁

    @RememberMe hmm maybe i could try add regenerative braking to my ride. Would be very resourceful given how crazy traffic in the bumpy roads here

    @codepoet depends on the overall $/kwh you'd end up spending and the efficiency of the system... if you're under 0.10$/kwh you'd be in a very good position for profit

    Get a loud exhaust so dickheads on the road can actually hear you.

    Lifelong devbiker - here's my last dev bike project:

    Pickup an old nexus 5, and an otterbox and you've got a cheap, waterproof data logger that fits under your seat. Dev yourself an app to log and send GPS data to a server so you can map your rides. Then play around encoding each log entry to make it as small as possible so it doesn't use too much data allowance.
    Also a good excuse to play with mapping, geofencing, and different data visualisation by building yourself a cool client app

    @px06 not a fan of loud exhaust in public spaces or roads. I have no respect for people who do that.

    @xPunxNotDeadx that's great. I'm planning on something like that. At least I'll be able to track of bike gets stolen than losing peace over it.

    @HoloDreamer nothing wrong with having a loud exhaust. Horns on bikes don't help, you probably don't live in a busy place if you think having a loud exhaust on a bike is bad lol.

    @px06 haha judging from your location, i bet you'd sweating balls and going crazy at the chaos in roads here. Top Gear guys couldn't handle it here. Vehicles are major source of noise pollution here. So I appreciate some peaceful silence from stupid uselss exhaust s.

    @HoloDreamer and where are you located?

    @HoloDreamer you should ride in Indian metro cities and suburbs. You'll be a pro biker in one month!
