Finally finished the blog post and (nearly) the last bugs (few remaining, still gotta think about how to solve them) are fixed.

The new blog post is online! I've taken a look at the Telegram messaging app and basically burned it into the ground. (Provided sources as well)

Next to that, a new domain name! As this blog is about online security AND privacy, I decided to change the domain name. The new one:
https://much-security-such-privacy.info/...

Dark theme can be enabled but will only work on one domain, you have to enable it on the other one as well to get a dark theme there. It stores the value in a cookie so it will remain when you reload the page and don't remove the cookies.

The RSS feed generator has a bug right now which makes that the page doesn't get updated, will work on that one tomorrow.

Thanks!

Last but not least, you can email me suggestions and so on at linuxxx@much-security.nl :)

    "This page isn’t working"

    I get a 500er

    He really likes the 500.

    @JoshBent Everytime he changes something on the site, there is at least von error 500.

    Also you did go for the cookie way, why? didn't you say you delete cookies yourself?
  • 3
    @JoshBent I won 😝

    @linuxxx Title and About still lead to old domain.

    @JoshBent Yes I do but if so many people find Js an issue then i don't mind a little inconvenience :)

    Also, that 500 thingy is fixed!
  • 1
    @Forside Yeah aware of that, will fix that one soon, thanks!

    @J-2FA Fair point although I chose it because of the humor :). I think that's a very essential part of the content/stuff I make.

    Headers need changing to a light colour when using dark theme

    Also, any chance you could use Arial or Calibri or something as the font? Serifs make it harder to read (pretty sure there's actual research on that too)
  • 1
    Other than that though, great job!
  • 2
    @Ezard Will take a look at the headers. As for the font, I chose it on purpose but the opinions are half/half good/bad so that's a tough one haha

    @Alice somehow I can understand that...

    This site functions, not?

    Perfect portscan 3 srvc and good dark theme. Congrats

    I like the long domain and I enjoyed reading your content. Every blog doesn't need to be a polished gem made with the latest flavor_of_month.js. Just keep posting good content, little else matters until you get on reddit ;) p.s. I find the long domain == bad thing to be an old idea from ancient times when people had to remember domains while they traveled from one cave to another cave that had AOL access, or had to chisel them in to their stone notepads...

    @linuxxx you could also solve it by a get parameter. People would just need to open the page url with '?style=dark' appended (e. G. bookmark it with it) and the page could save it for the session only.

    Not saying you have to (I don't mind), but it's another option. :)

    I also request and suggest you to reconsider the font choice.

    // I won't be writing this if I still have my pocket account though. Their reading mode has own easy to read font.

    @CurseMeSlowly yeah, the italics on the paragraph font was bugging me at first... but after reading a bit I didn't notice it. It's not a deal breaker, but some people won't take the time to settle in to it.

    @CurseMeSlowly Doesn't firefox have a pretty good reading mode built in?
  • 0
    @theCalcaholic I am on my mobile 😁
  • 0
    @jay97 The light theme switch is right next to it. But your right, it should be dynamic so it leads to the current page.
  • 0
    @jay97 You can see the switch there ;)

    @jay97 "ouch my eyes" though yeah it should maybe expand to 90/100vw on mobile to fit the menu into one line.

    Click on an article does rewrite the domain to https://much-security.nl/

    @linuxxx Another post you can write about, “Firefox pushed an add on for Mr. Robot promotion - causing security concerns.”

    Hey, @Linuxxx. I know this is a bit off-topic, but do you know any git hosting sites that don't collect data?

    @AnonyOps Good one but this seems to have been done by Individuals within Mozilla, I'd find it hard to condemn Mozilla itself for that. Also they open sourced everything now and are very transparent about this. I could write it but it would be quite positive towards Mozilla.

    @jay97 Ouch my eyes is the light theme button :). Also this blog is aimed at technical people's mostly so Yas :P
  • 1
    @agaskins @CurseMeSlowly I've had exactly about 50/50 as for opinions on that one so until a lot more people dislike it I'll keep it this way :)
  • 0
    @Linux Aware of that yas!

    @linuxxx I think the wording is a little misleading. Sounds like "ouch the darkness hurts my eyes, I want white back", but that's probably not what is meant?
  • 0
    @Forside Ouch my eyes, THAT BRIGHTNESS! (when switching to the light theme(
  • 1
    @linuxxx Yeah, I just seen the article without reading into it, I am definitely on your side...

    And now I feel idiotic, it’s not like me to “just read the title of the article” before talking about it.
