So, they just jumped from EMUI 5 for Android 7, to EMUI 8 for Android 8. Probably not a bad idea, actually.

Yeah... Don't know why. I guess they just started too fragment a little too hard over their different Modell lines. The p9 had emui 6 or 7 but was inferior to the mate 9 in respect to their Modell lineup... I guess... 🤷

Maybe they've just rolled a dice... 😂

Just got confirmation from the devs, another classic TYPO accident.
The Dev wrote EMUI 8 while thinking about Android 8
