Design and make an easily repairable laptop so I can graduate.

Figure out how to use blender for 3d modelling

Move the majority of software use to open sourced software.

    What's with that laptop?
    Want to know more.
    A lot more!

@RageBone the idea is that all parts of the laptop (CPU, GPU, Display, etc) can be easily removed and replaced. For example, the display should end up with its own housing that can be easily removed from the rest of the laptop, allowing for a busted LCD to be replaced.

    That is a nice concept!

What is your plan with the Mainboard?

    GPUs aren't socket-able?!
    Cpus are kind of socket-able.
Dedicated low power laptop cpus are definitely BGA though.

    So what's your plan?

@RageBone I have a bunch of the same laptop model that I plan to modify for the project

Ok, so you aren't designing your own / a new laptop rather then modifying one?

Well one of my current projects is a broken Xiaomi mi notebook air 13.
Had some Razer Blades before that.

So I do sympathize with repairability a lot.

You might have to get a laptop from circa 2010. It might have modular memory and disk so you can upgrade. Will do web browsing and file management.

The more recent computers are also perverted anti-repair garbage.
