Around 3k$

1.4 monero. About $600 atm. Probably about $100 investment. But then I'm using hardware I already own. The cost of my machines was way more than that but since I bought them for other things (before mining had a resurgence) I don't count those costs.

None of your business. It's really saddening to see people fight over their paycheck's secrecy, and then shout to the whole world "HEY I'VE MADE x DOLLARS IN CRYPTO, YEAH!".

Eg: @AnonyOps here - telling around on the internet that you've made such a large sum in cryptocurrencies could attract plenty of a hacker's attention, or even worse, people coming after you.
This has happened already, more than once. People have been blackmailed, sufferred, and died for less money than that.

Cryptocurrencies are meant to be private, just like the money in your bank account or in your pocket.

@endor Calm down child, it’ll be fine. If I can’t get into the hard drive because it’s encrypted, no one else can. It’s off site anyway. I get where you’re coming from, but I didn’t post my wallet address, my private key, my address, or anything of the sort. If someone would truly like to find me and harass me, they’d be devastated learning that I’m most likely more broke than they are. So please, sit down. I am being private, for all you know I’m lying. And the "this is the internet, I could be lying" excuse - especially after you've probably said too much - is just silly.

You've talked in the past about trying to recover your encrypted hard drive before, as well as the large sum of money your btc wallet was worth.
That already could be plenty of a reason for someone to try finding you and stealing that hard drive from you. And if not you, maybe the next guy who was a little less careful than you.

The more people understand they need to be careful about their security - especially when it comes to cryptocurrencies, among other things - the better.
(Again, not talking about you specifically)

No, I’m not going to totally go wild and neglect my privacy, but it’s not going to prevent me from discussing and sharing either. I’m not going to stop living my life and hide in the shadows, but I’m also not going to give too much information. Like I said, I understand where you’re coming from, the “child” remark was a joke. And yes some take things too far.

On a side note though, you can’t tell me you weren’t in a large way targeting me though when you specifically tagged me in your previous post.

Well.. I hope someone can find a loophole in the encryption you used and take some money but also leave you some..

(BTW.. a couple of months ago I read a rant about someone trying to decrypt their drive or wallet.. was that you?)

@AnonyOps I would spend some time figuring out how to break the drive's encryption.

It is not impossible because it is probably encrypted with a symmetric key (some version of AES). And you may know a part of it. And because there are parts of the disk which have predictable sequences of bits.

@nickhh Me and a few tech buddies are currently working on something of the sort. It was a randomly generated 64 character password, although possible, it’ll just take time and that’s something no one ever seems to have enough of.
