    I have now a repository too that I had to take offline for having credentials in it. When it comes to private repo's, I see not any problem in storing credentials there. People doing weird stuff with secrets and shit. Idiotic imho. Oh no, the username/password from the database that is only internally accessable. If the hackers are already that far - those secrets won't help you. I have bogus passwords everywhere. Just name of service or whatever. But not the default - what IF it's accessible unexpected.
