    Had a similar problem, except in my case the card had a slot, and I was ready to install it... then i realised my PSU had no plugs left...

    How are you supposed to cut a pcie slot into a motherboard?

    You don't carve motherboards out of motherboard trees.

    @LastDigitOfPi well, technically, 1x is ok, but not close to the maximum of what the drive can do.
