I just realized a Samsung, Google, Apple smartphone now costs more than a 55in UltraHD 4K smart TV....

Too be fair, a smart phone is a bit more useful than a TV. And has many more features than a TV.

@jhh2450 it's a Smart TV and ChromeCast only cost $40

@billgates portability and size. Being that miniaturized makes them super costly. The ppi isn't even close

@iam13islucky isn't 4k supposed to be super good, retina like?

@billgates it's around 75 pixels per inch at a good distance from your face. The Google pixel 2 is like 441 ppi brought up next to your face. Retina is a marketing bullshit term, doesn't mean anything. TVs are usually meters from you, so the smaller ppi is made up for by the fact that your vision gets less sharp from that distance, but phones don't have that luxury. 4k just means you have a ~4000 pixels wide screen, that's all. A small screen at 4k is gonna be crazy expensive and be super sharp from up close, but a bigger one ain't.

That's why I spent 200on my phone. If not for nfc capability, I would have spent 100
