Attempting to root my phone for the first time - wish me luck!

@webnoob thanks - I'll do That, but I can't seem to find any software which can root a galaxy s8+ (the NOT snapdragon model)

Read any instructions a few times to save yourself hours of frustration when it doesn't work because you missed out a step. I suppose you've tried https://oneclickroot.com/samsung/... I can't see anything specifically snapdragon on there but I haven't looked hard. Are you flashing a custom ROM as well?

I doubt you did anything wrong, it's probably just a typical internet scam. I've never actually used it myself, so a bad suggestion on my part anyway.
