STOP TEACHING ON STONE AGE IDEs FFS

We have to use one that is ~8 years old, even though there are updates available, since our Pcs are too slow to use the up to date version of this shitty enough IDE.

If you MUST make people learn eLisp, allow them to try it outside of emacs...

My university uses BlueJ to teach since it was made by a couple of the professors here. Ok to start off with but I think they leave it in the course far too long.

Our professor in algorithms and data structures are coding Java examples in BlueJ and uploading the code to SharePoint.
It didn't take more than 2 minutes before one of us were writing a script to download the code from SharePoint and upload to Github automatically.
