    I think c++ is perfect for a first language.

    I first learned Python, and I was really confident until I saw C++'s hello world syntax.

    Programming would have been a lot easier if I had started with C++.

    @Michelle But it usually scares people that don't have any coding experience yet (I started with C++ tho, because I was willing to)

    I also started with C++ and it perfectly prepared me to understand higher level languages. It is really not as hard as people claim.

    @filthyranter
    All programming languages scare those who are new.
    They don't understand the syntax of any language, so it'll be intimidating. If they start with Python, they'll get scared. If they start from C++, they'll get scared.

    No matter which language they start from, they will get scared. They might as well start with the scary hard one instead of the scary easy one.

    @qwert
    Not really. I mean, C++ is a lot more useful than C, so I'd say starting from C++ would be better.
