Keyboard.....
Which one? Mechanical? Regular?
Any recommendations? Only thing I need is it to be silent and not glow like a lamp. Mostly for coding work stuff, 0 gaming.

If you're trying to be silent then a mechanical keyboard clearly is the wrong choice :D

Mechanical keyboards are always louder than normal ones, though for some people(like me) that's a bonus, I just like the sound of it.

That said they are great for typing and the cheaper ones usually only have a very basic backlight that you can switch off anyways.

Aside from that maybe some ergonomic keyboard might be your cup of tea, but I don't have any experience with these.

The first mechanical keyboard was some cherry MX which is suuuper great, then I bought some random chinese mech. KB but some keys were registered like 0-5 times. Bought a IBM model m 2 weeks ago and its the best one I've ever used!

In school we have random rubberdomes and I get aids every time I have to use it

@b3b3 Not to mention school keyboards tend to be not very hygienic.
Pro tip: Don't ever turn these things on their head or shake them too much.

@Vitz Any good keyboard with membrane switches. Go for Logitech or Microsoft one. They are portable so that u can take it with you if needed. And try to get a bluetooth KB.

@b3b3 you could bludgeon someone with a model m and still type your senior thesis on it

I always used the regular Logitech or Microsoft keyboard but now I'm ready for the next level. I was sure people here would recommend me better keyboards for long coding sessions. But now I noticed that most of the users here are gamer kids...
Was looking to spend 100$ on a nice keyboard.

@Vitz Well i will be honest i have a Logitech G810 Spectrum. But i got it because i like mechanical keyboards but i dont like loud mechanical keys. If u really want silent mechanical keyboard go for Logitech one. They use romer-g keys which are silent (compared to cherry-mx). And i understand why people say get a $100 keyboard. Its because if you get one of the good one, you will get value for what you are paying for. Mech-KB have a good lifespan. Also if u finally decide to go for mech-kb, dont go for Razer. The quality is not good. But given what you require u can still work with regular kb. Totally depends if u want Mech-kb or not.
