Got called anti-social because I don't use social networks and rather talk to people.

I am not sure how to feel about this.

First off, I like your username.

Most social media sites are just going to get you more depressed and rarely work well as face to face. Plus they're data stealers :D

That's literally the opposite though

Seeing four people together all using there phones instead of talking to eachother doesn't make me feel I would be the weird one.

There was a time when I was younger and never did good with the ladies, because I wanted to chat instead of going out.

Social networks are very antisocial in my opinion. Sharing a bunch of holiday/food/whatever photos that is relevant to nobody but you or reposting viral content does not make someone social.

As someone who grew up wanting to play with technology more and more, these days I just wish I knew people who live near me with similar interests to hang out with.

The closest I get to that is to do voice chat with people I met playing online games who live hundreds of miles away...

Missing parties because they only sent the invite through Facebook and assumed you are still using that is also a fun conversation to have.

Facebook and other usual social networks are for the "majority", whereas devRant targets a more specific social group.

It's not likely that you'll find a famous singer here (unless he/she/it also codes), so I think social networks are just transposing school groups into the virtual space.

@andros705 I already have a job (for quite a long time). There are people with some similar interests but I haven't really established any kind of "hey let's meet up outside of work" friendship with anyone there.
