These days when I go out with friends for gatherings, it feels really awkward to talk with people. Most times I don't fit in the crowd at all. I feel at home, with my laptop doing something, even procrastinating seems worthwhile when compared to this.
Does anyone feel the same way? Or, it's just a very personal thing?

That's, buddy, called introvert. Maybe you are one of them, an introvert.

@Chemango almost similar group of people, a few years back I was very comfortable talking to. Not gatherings in particular, hate being around people itself.

@ibrahmin13 maybe you just no longer feel attached to them. Try find new people and maybe you'll get back your own spirit.

Depends on the context. If I'm surrounded by a bunch of strange people in a strange place doing unfamiliar activities, it can be pretty rough. But generally as soon as I have somthing or someone to anchor around, it's easier to be more confident in the situation.

Yeah I'm generally shit with social stuff too, try to avoid it and would much rather be staring at a screen. I think I'm definitely an introvert. I tend to peak up when I've had a drink or two but that generally never happens because I drive everywhere.

@CodeKill I feel the same almost always. After a few drinks, I can open up but the problem of driving back is huge.

@AlinaWithAFace most of the people I mention are college or school buddies. This issue wasn't there a year back, but these days just hate being around people.

@ibrahmin13 nothing wrong with just being who you are, unless you're a over the top extravert, then there is ;)
