I'm sure nobody gives a shit. Unless you've committed something in demand your repo is unlikely to be seen by many people. Since it's github we can presume most visitors are programmers and since they're programmers we can assume they mostly all make (or made) the same mistakes as you.

py2js27657yDon't worry I hope you won't be worst and you won't be the best so chill out. Just google nocode github and feel better that you are contributing something worthwhile.

Nah you shouldn't worry much. Just allow yourself committing a lot of mistakes except putting private credentials on GitHub.

freakko6307yI only worrued whether I should be rebasing more to get rid of the ugly merge commits. I can't, however, for the life of me grasp when to and when not to rebase so whatever.

Never have I ever gotten anyone to view my repos. And they have been viewed, it was because of some stupid snooping bot.
Related Rants
I've always been anxious about putting my stuff on GitHub.
However, I did upload a project of mine there.
Thoughs few minutes after uploading it:
"Omg, is anyone judging how bad my code is?"
"I'm sure they will criticize it."
"O shit, I forgot a // TODO in there."
"O shit did I upload my credentials by mistake?"
"Does this commit message sound right?"
"Should I commit more often?"
"Do I commit too often?"
