Knowing I'm probably more experienced and a better developer than most of my peers but not able to show it in interviews to land a job that actually would use it.

Make it's your area and/or your tech stack. It could be that those two are just not compatible, so you might need to change one or both to land a better job. I totally believe you have the skills, that's why I'm subscribed to your rants, so it could be that.

Well peers I mean developers I know and so same tech stack.

It's sort of ironic the timing of this question. I just finished 3 hours of personal coding.

Last month or so, I've been less motivated to code personal projects or read up on the latest tech in general...

Maybe part of it is just work, too much lately but mostly fishing production issues that weren't caused by me...

The other part I guess is job wise I've sorta given up... could also be the weather (winter still...) but personally I'm feeling no real point anymore and I'm tired of just always hearing "we like you but we don't think you're a good fit"... and studying for "the test". I don't understand how a few hours of technical interviews has more weight than all the years of actual coding and problem solving.

So this year I've sorta adopted the mindset of just not giving a fuck anymore... but still sort of annoys me a bit when I hear "{some monkey I know} found a new job"
