Anyone else used TripleByte? Someone told me about it awhile ago and then this morning saw an ad for it so thought I'd give it a try...

I sorta feel a some of the questions I bombed but apparently I did exceptionally well...

So was wondering are these guys for real and are they effective? I've been thru a few of these recruiting companies but nothing really ever happens...

They reached out to us about doing a partnership, I had a Skype call with one of their people, really nice guy, not a douchey recruiter type. We'll probably experiment with a simple non-tracking ad unit on the website to drive traffic to their quiz, see how the community does. I think it fits well with our community personality around meritocracy since they are less concerned with your experience and credentials than how well you know your shit. They only operate in a few cities though, so that's a bit limiting.

@trogus yea the options were only SF and NYC. But good to know, thanks.

I was just wondering though how good the test was. I sorta had the feeling that it might be "we'll give you a really hard test but as long as you can read code get like 20%, you pass" (and that's why we won't tell you how many you actually got right).

Wow actually didn't read the last line in their message... Skip to final interview...

Guess I'll give it a try... Though not sure how technical interview ready I m... which is also why felt strange that I passed...

@trogus @dfox not sure if you guys tried it already but probably should before linking.

I think you'll have to basically register before taking the test... And well they didn't mention anything about a technical until afterwards...

Maybe they could make a devRant only shorter version of the test just to let ppl try it out without having to register (sorta like a social quiz).
