I'm a solo freelancer and I use slack for myself. It's an amazing tool. The ability for you to port in apps and query using bits has changed my whole DevOps and PM pipelines.

Add in more people and you can have a pretty powerful project/biz management tool. Which is exactly what it's designed to do. It's enterprise IM.
