@AlexDeLarge he aint getting paid shit, but yeah there should be a comma somewhere
-
I am Indian.. But boy! That's so fucking true. These people shit wherever there is opportunity..
-
@AlexDeLarge indeed. I fucked it up. But what happened is that my boy was offered a small job by the developers that took the job from him for what was basically shit pay. As in: $4.00 an hour to do what he was going to charge $80 an hour.
-
@sharktits "they are charging us $4...can you match their price?"
Shameless shit like that happens all the time. -
Brolls31157yOne of my previous employers had an in-house dev team of 2. The project manager was a smarmy two faced bastard (that he was British Pakistani is largely immaterial).
Buuuuut... in that classic “it’ll be cheaper!” fit of insanity companies go through, they hired remote Indian contractors, that honestly, apart from one guy were just appalling.
The code was awful, they did the quickest, dirtiest fix they could for things (and I got it in the neck because I didn’t work that way... sorry for taking pride in my profession).
The CEO was a little bit of a sociopath, super charming and able to get you to do whatever he wanted. Huge proponent of the lean startup... except the part about your core product actually leaving the MVP stage.
It fucking ruined me. My mental health took such a nose dive there.
And rather than develop a new system, they decided they were going to go use Dynamics or SalesForce.
I was outta there.
Bye Felicia. -
Brolls31157y@AleCx04 I’ve bounced from company to company in a downward spiral. I’m now working from home with my own company, so yeah, things are on the up 👍
Someone I know lost a job opportunity to an indian "consulting firm" later to be approached by the developers of said firm to help with a joke of a compensation.
This is glorious and one of the primary reasons why I hate trying to freelance.
Just imagine having an email with a thousand "Sir, please give how to do .....sir please this sir please that"
Absolutely gorgeous.
