Me: I have been working for you for almost 12 years now, and I feel that my current pay is not comparable to the work I currently produce. Therefore, in order to secure my future as your employee, I must request an immediate raise in pay to a level that is acceptable.

Boss: I can't afford it. If you want more money, you need to bring in more clients, plain and simple.

Me: I'm serious. If I don't get a raise, I will qui---

Girlfriend: Babe, stop talking to yourself and come to bed...

Me: Okay... [looks in mirror] This isn't finished...

Make it simpler on yourself... Go to some interviews, if you like what they offer, quit and accept, if not stay...

Make yourself see that you have value, and if they don't see your value, than they are not a good match for you...

No one should ever feel the need to ask to be paid their worth...

    @mmcorreia It was a joke, implying that I'm self-employed.

But I'd never quit my job. My boss can be an asset sometimes, but we allows drinking on the job. [Raises glass to mirror].

@JMoodyFWD well, just read that you were training... Stupid me...

In that case, go make your boss some money! Don't be lazy... :P

(And I was trying to be supportive -_-)

It feels like you guys aren't noticing the punchline, or that it's tagged as "funny" and "joke".

    I'm self-employed. I am my own boss...

@mmcorreia Oh no, I've got no problem speaking my mind lol (see my other rants). Just figured I'd post something to laugh, or facepalm at 😂

@JMoodyFWD don't have the balls to go self-employed...

I feel that I don't like to work for asshole bosses... And whould be tough saying "I quit and good luck with your shit" to myself...

I read it so that you were practicing/dreaming in front of a mirror and the joke was that in real life you wouldn't have the courage.

At first I thought the joke was about not having enough guts and practicing/imagining at the mirror.

    I self-rant like this more than I like too, luckily you're self-employed (:

I want you to make that dream become a reality, because if you don't, you will be working for somebody else to make their dreams become a reality
