I went to an interview one time where they advertised for a Web Developer. I sat down with four different people and it was the fifth person who I would work directly with said they needed someone with more of a design background.

They do not know the difference between a web designer and web developer.

@monolith920 the sad thing is that most people nowadays think that "Web Developer" and "Web Designer" are synonymous :(
