SSDD47967y@Charon92 well it is the same but not how you describe.
If someone “knows” they are insane then they’re not insane. -
Wikipedia describes it as: Impostor syndrome (also known as impostor phenomenon, fraud syndrome or the impostor experience) is a concept describing individuals who are marked by an inability to internalize their accomplishments and have a persistent fear of being exposed as a "fraud".
This seems pretty much in line with how devranters are using it. -
Well this is true for most (stupid, lazy) people i met before...
But there are people that are scuttled by no tech people about their skills and such so i dont think that applays for everyone... just like me 😞.
That moments when you cant repair, printer, tv or something and they start to deny all your knowlege and skill that you gathered through your life.
After few similar situations you will start hasitating about it as well because nobody will tell you anything when you do sonething right! -
w4tsn35017yThis rises the question if all syndromes harm your ability to reflect and make discoveries over your own state. I'd be careful to make that assumption to generic. It is definitely possible to have a mental illness while at the same time knowing about it. This is part of knowing and exploring yourself and very important to go and get help by yourself.
Appart from that imposter syndrome is not classified as mental illness and also the term syndrome is misleading since it is more like an experience. It is like a learned reaction pattern to day-to-day situations and is not taking full control over your ability to reflect. It is possible to cope with it and develop work-arounds by studying yourself and for this you need to know if you tend to experience imposter feelings. With enough evidence and logical questions one is able to achieve that, since people with imposter feelings are not generally stupid. Also about 70% of us may encounter an episode of imposter feelings in their live (I'm one of it) -
Root826027yIt's absolutely possible to recognize the pattern in yourself.
It's quite another thing to overcome it.

omom36Da Fuck!?! Yesterday I found some abnormal activity on my server, someone was trying to brute force my ssh as ...
Imposter syndrome. I’m SICK of hearing people say that they have imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome literally means that you are good at your job but you BELIEVE you are a fraud / not worthy / are going to get “found out”.
By self identifying as having imposter syndrome, then by definition that means you in fact DO NOT have imposter syndrome.
If you DID have imposter syndrome then you would just think you were bad at your job.
