I just had a 2 hours long company lunch followed by a 1 hour meeting with the whole team. And I still have a big problem to discuss with two colleagues. Too much social interaction for one day for me. Damn, how my head hurts.

    Fellow dev metalheads, what do you listen to when your head hurts?
  • 2
    Any thing with a great thumping beat, like ManoWar or Iron Savior, you know the one that you can feel in your chest when listened to really loud.

    Thunder Struck by AC/DC is another such song.

    And the deadline will not move

    @Floydian I have not, I'll chuck that on my list of stuff I need to see :)

    @Floydian I guess I am. I feel exactly the same as what @Pseudonymous described. I get very tired from social interactions (like what happened today) and I'm much more productive when working from home.

    Thank you all for your suggestions. I was planning to listen to some Iron Maiden or Dio, but ended up retreating to the designers' room because the product managers decided to use our room to have a discussion. The designer's room was so quiet that I decided to just enjoy the silence.

    @Pseudonymous I love power metal, specially prog power (Symphony X is my favourite band), but oddly enough I prefer to listen to melodic death metal when working.
  • 1
    @Pseudonymous I'm sorry, what do mean with "mange"?
  • 1
    @Pseudonymous oh, ok. 😅 I googled mange and got even more confused.

    What is you usual working playlist?
  • 1
    @Floydian yeah, it's good to find others that feel the same. 🙂

    One funny thing about me: I absolutely hate crowds and avoid places with lots of people like shopping malls, but I love being at heavy metal concerts, even crowded ones. I don't know why.

    @Floydian That was what I was thinking too: because I feel at home there.

    @Floydian I've seen a lot. I've seen almost all of my favourite bands live.

    I'll be attending an Iron Maiden concert for the second time this July. Really looking forward to it. 😃

    I saw Machine Head last Saturday. Not really my scene, but my girlfriend wanted to go. And they played Hallowed be Thy Name 🤘 Damn, how I sang along.

    @Floydian out of my head, other bands I've seen: Symphony X, Iced Earth, Arch Enemy, Amorphis, Firewind, Freedom Call, Epica, Accept, Dream Theater, Opeth, Rhapsody, Mr Big, Metallica, Rammstein and Motorhead.

    @Floydian I will. 😉

    Do you usually go to concerts too?
  • 1
    @Floydian that's a bit sad... ☚ī¸ can you afford travelling to Europe and go to a festival? Here in Portugal we have some nice small/medium sized festivals.

    @Pseudonymous I did and it was epic 😁 I recommend you don't miss them next time. 😉

    That is very nice indeed.

    My first big show was Mastodon, Stone Sour and Metallica in 2006 or 2007, can't remember exactly.

    The second was Slayer and Iron Maiden in 2008 I think. I was so drunk I slept through Slayer and I only woke up for the Raining Blood intro. 😅 I was fine during Maiden tho.

    @Floydian damn, I'm sorry 🙁 I hope someday they do.

    Are the local bands good at least?
  • 1
    @Floydian nice! Anything on YouTube that you could share?
  • 1
    @Floydian any kind of metal.
  • 1
    @Floydian thank you, I'll listen to all that tomorrow.

    It's really great when bands combine metal with their cultural music because some very interesting combos appear. I love bands like Myrath (Arabic power metal) and Eluveitie (Celtic folk metal).

    Considering your suggestions you seem to like death metal. Do you know Amorphis? It's what I listen to mostly when working.

    @Floydian then I think you'll like most of the stuff that I linked.

    I don't like thrash metal that much either. Metallica was one of the first metal bands that I listened to, but I quickly moved away from it.

    @Floydian opeth was right at the start too. Their Morningrise album helped me get through my teenage years. 😅

    I don't like black metal either. Even death metal depends.

    I'm more of a power metal or traditional heavy metal kind of guy. Or anything that is progressive.

    @Floydian always heard about porcupine tree but never got to listen to it. Shame on me.

    Dream Theater, Symphony X, Nevermore.

    Anything by the Jarzombek brothers: Spastic Ink, Blotted Science.

    @Floydian alright, I'll give it a try. 😁

    I linked Symphony X above. The link right after "other stuff I love". And Nevermore is in there too.

    @Floydian YouTube and Spotify suggestions, suggestions from other people and festivals actually. 😅
  • 1
    @Floydian you're welcome. 😉

    I finally listened to your suggestions. Agam is really awesome! I've got to listen to some more of that. I found them on Spotify but they only have like 5 songs. 🙁
