Everyone carries their phone with them all the time, sharing hotspot from their phone would be easier than carrying their laptop to share connection with their phone (in-case they are in a place with no WiFi)

All the Dell's we get at work for external sales staff have SIM slots. We have never bothered using them as (as already mentioned) they just use there phone as a hotspot.
