D--M22687yI feel like, if theres 70 people, then you would have a proper network and could just have everyone get it off a set of NAS
-
@D--M Will you pay for the proper network with NAS that can handle 70 people downloading at the same time then? :)
No offense, but it's always quite a weird thing to say: "ye get this proper thing and this proper hardware too" while not everybody can just afford that... -

I just assumed it was some kind of large event since you have 70 people all on the same network, which means surely youve got some hardware to support 70 people.
Also, whats so bad about public trackers and, why are you even using torrents? -
@D--M The network itself can support em (and the game servers too), it just runs into issues when those 70 people start to download a game at the sametime.
That is why I added my own tracker to the setup so they can download it P2P with the NAS as initial seed.
while not making the network faster, due to the fact the NAS doesn't have to send the same part of the file over and over again to 70 different clients speeds it up a lot.
Mean, imagine having a NAS with 2 drives in RAID1 and 2x 1GBit lines that has to send a 20GB big file to 70 clients...
The custom tracker is so we can keep the entire setup offline
> wants to share a game for a LAN party
> doesn't want to use public trackers due to slowness
> builds own trscker instead
Man, sometimes I widh I didn't knew how to code...
