if your're going to china, i've read that every vpn connection is now blocked and illegal to use. Companies can license a chinese state vpn but they are used to spy for trade secrets. That's why many small companies in europe considering closing shop in china. And big companies start using humans with usb thumb drives to send sensitive info it's chinese branch by plane.
