I once created a folder mistakenly named “~”. The next logical step was to fix this mistake, so I mechanically ran “rm -rf ~” ...
The saddest part is that after recovering most of all my files through countless backups, I still miss 50Gig of data, without having any clue of what it could be XD

    I also created a folder named "-" one time.

    I also made this folder accidentally but devrant saved me. I had already read a rant similar to yours and remembered not to do the same mistake 😌

    Sooo you should've ran rm -f ./~ ?

    The only reason I haven't done something like this already is that I'm pretty good at remembering to ls a folder before I do rm -r
