Because of the hassle with different versions of MC, mods, forge, liteloader who are all requiring versions not compatible with each other. Add OS X kicking out insecure old Java which some of the aforementioned require it's a huge mess. At one point I had to extract jars and hand edit them. The legacyjavafixer solved the java issue (in some cases at least).
Tried multiMC now but it only works with java6 and crashes when I tell it to run Java8 (that it tell me to use).
Add to that children who are in agony because they want to play something that forced me to reinstall the whole game last time. Or is miserable for literally months about some magazine advertising a mod feature that is actually deprecated and removed (and doesn't believe me when I tell it).
Kids are the worst clients. -
Note: Give me a few days to myself with vanilla MC and I'll forget to eat but be perfectly happy.

epse36618yModder here. My biggest issue is that the Forge documentation is literally non existent and I have to rely entirely on external blogs with tutorials. Fine for 1.7 or whatevs but for 1.9 (let alone 1.10) there is nothing. Fml
I now hate Minecraft, mods and Java in particular.
