At my school we programmed with BluJ and then switched to IntelliJ mid semester. I felt like I went from driving a station wagon to a brand new Tesla.

At my high school, we used JCreator for a while, and some of us started using IntelliJ because it's just the best, but our teacher started telling us to use BluJ because it has a debugger. Felt like going from a nice Tesla to a toy Corolla.

@Sydochen man I feel your pain. The only reason we’re using BluJ is because my professor is friends with the people who made BluJ

Honestly, I think BlueJ seems good for the purpose of teaching Java programming, at least from what I see. But yeah, IntelliJ is great. 😎

BlueJ is great for teaching. We used it in high school ~12 years ago. By being able to look into objects, it was easy to learn a lot about data structures. Saved me a lot of time during university.
