    This is a very personal question that only a furry looking for furries would make.

    Don't be mean, I'm not that hairy.

    @mundo03 I don't see it as being personal. I don't hide it at all. It's a part of who I am and my personality. Hell, I'd pay good money for the use of furry avatars here.

    I suppose some might feel it's personal, but furry in the sense of the fandom, not some individuals may do in said fandom.

    @xorith every time i think or see furries I think of fucking furries.

    Isn't it something sexual? That would be very personal

    This is not the place to ask this. Seems like a question for www.facebook.com, if you want me to be honest.

    @mundo03 No, it's not sexual.

    @jhh2450 Considering how many of us are programmers and IT professionals, why not?

    It would seem that I'm proven right again. We've got two people who have no idea what the fandom is out to persecute and judge without bothering to understand what it is they speak of.

    Sad!

    I have nothing against furries (i actually have quite some furry friends), but they do have a negative stigma for sure. Im still not a furry myself (except i really like cats)

    @gitreflog There was quite a bit more negativity in the past. Some of it justified, a lot of it not.

    These days we police our own and the majority of us frown upon those who work to give us a bad name.

    What is exactly a furry to you? When someone mentioned a while back I looked it up and I found nothing but a weird fetish towards anthropomorphic animals that looked like skunks, dogs, cats, etc aaaaall having sex and see stuff like that. This seems to be a subculture based around a fetish.

    @AleCx04

    Wolf was a spirit animal when I was younger and still had beliefs in silly notions like that.

    The wolf stuck.

    I would've thought this site had people who didn't just accept what the masses tell them.

    @AleCx04 also I question your search engine. I've done the same search myself and haven't seen the sex? Yeah. Thought so.

    @xorith thought so what?

    This is literally in the search for "furries"
  • 2
    @xorith even better. After doing more search on the items I found that furries have their own(weird admittedly) way of referring to sexual activities or sexy things although apparently its a form of saying hi as well?? Either way the word is yiff.

    Like whatever floats your boat man. I was legitimately asking because the entire thing continues to feel like a subculture based on a fetish.

    @AleCx04 I'm still trying to see how those images make you come to the conclusion that it's based on a fetish.

    People in the fandom have sex.

    It isn't based on the idea.

    The fandom is more about community and acceptance than a fetish.

    @xorith well if you say so I'll take your word for it.

    So i guess then that it goes around the concept of liking anthropomorphic furry animals that act like humans? Would that be a better look at it?

    I am really not picking on you btw. I am legit trying to understand the concept.

    @AleCx04 that's pretty much it. Freedom to design your own character is nice. The fact that no matter how awkward you feel, there's friends to be had in the fandom.

    And I do get triggered by the constant "fetish" label. There was a reporter at a convention not long ago who basically went nuts until she got someone to say the word "sex" and pasted clips out of context to make it seem like a sex convention.
