At the moment, I use an 17inch Laptop as my desktop-computer at home.
It has a fairly good display, so I don't want a downgrade from that. -
better display, hands down.
Never compromise on the human facing IO devices. you are going to stare/touch/smell the thing for a long time....
Also, buy a good chair. -
2Dynast147yWhat is The rest of The computer spec? Alternativ you could build your own if it is a desktop computer you are looking for. It is not Hard The only timme consuming is picking The right parts.

I'm still a student, and the shop, i want to buy it from gives special discounts for students, so its cheaper for me than building it on my own.
Specs:
Intel i5, 4x3Ghz
8Gb ram
128GB ssd + 1TB hdd -
Kimmax109877yGet a 6gb card, really. I ordered a 3gb one on mistake but didn't want to send it back and wait for a new one, so just went with the 3gb. Now, 4 months later, I regret it. I encountered 4 or 5 games where I could ramp the specs up more gpu performance wise, but can't because the 3gb memory fill up pretty quickly at a mid / high graphics settings combination
So yeah, 25% gpu power to go, but no more graphics memory -
@Kimmax,
What games exactly?
I also have a PS4, so I'm fine with playing some games on console instead of PC. -
Kimmax109877y@metamourge Tom Clancy's Wildlands, GTAV, etc. generally everything that's remotely open world and therefore needs much graphics memory
-
@Kimmax
Ah, okay, I see.
But, normally, I don't really play open world games, at least not the newer ones, on PC so that shouldn't be that big of a problem for me. -
Apart from the GPU,
Does anyone of you have experience with curved displays?
Because, there are two great displays on sale,
One 'normal' by OMEN and one curved by Samsung. -
Kimmax109877y@metamourge curved adds a nice touch, but you'll pretty much forget it after some days. I swap between curved 27" at home and dual 24" 'normal' at work daily and don't see any advantages / disadvantages
-
@Kimmax
OK, thx.
I've now settled with a 24" IPS, 2 small Logitech speakers and the PC with the GTX 1060 6GB. -
RageBone5907y@metamourge 1060 3gb is a misleading pice of Crap, Nvidia sells different specs, one has 10% less CUs or something like that.
Thanks NVIDIA.
Gamers Nexus covered that in detail.
I want to buy a new computer + display + speakers and now, I have to decide, whether to buy the one with a GTX 1060 3GB, a better display and better speakers, or the one with a GTX 1060 6GB, and not that good display and speakers.
Damn, my brain hurts...
