Is WordPress the most misused piece of software nowadays?

    Wordpress used for a blog? Never.
    Wordpress used for online shop, basic website, message board? Always.

    Its been abused from day one, not to mention it's codebase is a total mess.

    When a client brief specifies a Wordpress website instead of a website, that's when I walk (run) away.

    "oh, it's just WordPress" leads to sites built with 50 plugins, sites destroyed by people who treat it like a static site, and otherwise competent webdevs who don't realize they're rewriting core functions.
