    @wokeRoach Xamarin, LinkedIn, Minecraft would disagree.

    There could be a lot of actual reasons/arguments behind 'because microsoft' :)

    @Floydian He's a dev. Actually a really good one tbh!

    @linuxxx I am sure most of those reasons belong to pre Satya era.

    @wokeRoach If you don't know, Github was hasn't made any profits for quite some time now. Also they were having struggles with leadership and were planning to go public.
    Now imagine a github run by a group of investors.
    Microsoft kind of came to the rescue here (with their own interest too ofcourse)

    @Floydian I don't think he made a judgement. I think he just made a jibe at those people who just hate MS for no apparent reason.
    Now u may not be one of them, but I am sure u won't disagree that there are plenty who're just pretending to hate MS to sound cool!!

    Ps: I have some friends in my University who r worse than a noob at coding. But they still pretend to be all Linuxy to sound like devs. These r those kind of people!!

    @TomRiddle dont forget skype

    @Floydian Not sure if talking about me but I've got all the right to judge this however I want.

    @TomRiddle Nope, those belong to the here and now in my case :)

    @Floydian No clue who that is but why'd you think so?

    Also, what does your last paragraph have to do with this?

    @TomRiddle and a shitstorm made of every other software Microsoft has fucked up would un-disagree

    @TomRiddle Skype, Nokia (I mean the old Nokia), Rare would disagree with your disagreement

    @Floydian Well the second thingy might apply me then maybe... I've outed concerns but am mainly mashed into the ground, no matter what I say about this.

    Could that be not being able to express my reasons?

    And its still painful as a motherfucker 😅😥

    @Floydian Done already! Surgery tomorrow :)

    GitLab. Because unlimited private repos for free for all my various "hey, let's try THIS!" projects that never actually turn into anything shareable.
  • 2
    @datawraith Now that's a sensible argument 😬

    @rEaL-jAsE To be fair, WordPress and Joomla have a lot of postings too, doesn't mean they're good 😛

    I've moved to GitLab before Microsoft acquired GitHub. GitLab give us the opportunity to make our repo's private and other reasons.

    I don't hate Microsoft so if they release something interesting for GitHub I will probably try it.

    Our choice to go with GitLab is for our Business and not for Open-Source projects, if I create something Open-Source I will post it on GitHub.

    @Squarety Well that males sense, the problem is with wannabes who are just trying to hate on a particular company for no good reason.
    Even I used GotLab for private repos until I got my GiHub education pack!!

    @rEaL-jAsE Oh, same tribe eh! 😏

    @TomRiddle I'm agree with you. Since I'm not a College Student (And will never be) I can't have this opportunity, I like GitLab too but it's more amateur, I don't like to have my Web app down for 6 hours because of a db error during a scheduled 1 minute downtime. Yes I feel them, I'm the kind of Front-End Prog to just add a line to the Nginx conf file and try to restart it and I just shutdown the whole web serv because of a ";" missing. 😂
