How many of you know what this is?
It's what gives me energy to code all day long!

    That looks very fibery.

@Kryptic0 Yes it is... but the metal straw only lets the water pass through.

@albi Here in central Brazil and Paraguay we call it Terere, and it's served cold. In Argentina, Uruguay and South Brazil they drink it "gut burning" hot, and call it Yerba, Mate or Chimarrão.

What is it exactly though. Because that looks an awful lot like coca leaves D:

@telephantasm It's made from the leaves of a tree called Mate (yes, the same that inspired that linux DE), and it's rich in caffeine.

@AlexDeLarge The crushed leaves pieces are slightly bigger than that used on the hot Yerba. After filling about 2/3 of the cup we tilt it and give it some taps and push it with the metal straw so the herb stays mostly on one side of the cup after we carefully straight it up. After that we pour the cold water on the space left on the other side, but don't fill it completely.

In Germany we drink it as a soft drink. It is also called „hacker brause" which means hacker drink. ❤️ Mate
