Google is far more intrusive than Microsoft IMO.

User-data is the core-business while Microsoft actually sell something.

I think Microsoft now is advancing a lot, I'm guessing in the future it will be:

1. Cloud service: Microsoft

2. Mobile/Tablet: Apple

3. Search/Email/Ads: Google

4. Social: Facebook/WhatsApp/Instagram (pretty much Facebook)

5. Super computers: IBM (they are really investing in that and Quantum computers)

6. E-Commerce: Amazon, Alibaba, Rakuten, maybe still Lazada?

Don't know I feel companies are no longer competing to take everything but instead now sharing the pie, each takes his own segment and no one is allowed to come near it, and who ever starts to get closer either acquired or fought.

@fuck2code I know but not every area was a success for them, they were building a competitor for MS Team Services and Github, but where is it now?

They are building their own host provider for websites, and where is it now?

They have competitor for Amazon and Microsoft for cloud services, but again, Amazon and Microsoft are still better at it

But must be honest, their G-Suite is really helpful for work.

@fuck2code Not saying google will vanish in the near future, just saying that they are going towards specialization, just like Microsoft, I never thought they'd let go of Windows for main profits.

As for Android, the only reason I see it is so popular because it runs on many devices and not stick to one manufacture and one pricing strategy. But lets face it how many buy android because it is the system they are looking for, but instead buy android because it was a cheap phone? Not talking about devs and tech people.

As for the quantum computer, it is not about who owns it first, about how to make use of it, if I'm not mistaken IBM already made theirs available for public.

@fuck2code you are correct, no competition = less innovation, but the thing is, with the loads of power they have, they can either:

1. Mimic the idea

2. Acquire the new competitor

Which goes back to them only, that's how I see it going to end tbh I sure hope I'm wrong

@fuck2code Lets hope so, but tbh I don't care about feedback I randomly see or hear, like: my phone is too damn slow

Show me numbers, show me how many units were shipped, sold and activated and not that feedback.

We all know we can even make a hello world program slow af and blame the language/computer for that

Show me data and not what is found on social media like "my phone is slow, or my computer is shit ...etc." those hold no value
