What you don't like about Ubuntu Gnome? Hard to give suggestions if we don't know what is the problem and requirements.

Jilano273046yLike many others said before, it all depends on how much effort you're willing to put in. I would also suggest going for Arch or Arch-based to go further into the rabbit hole, or why not take an step in a completely different direction with NixOS.
Side note: Like @Linux "asked", the "look" on Linux is not bound to any distribution. You are able to get (almost) any look on anything. -
Manjaro is nice. I'm having desktop glitches with KDE on two screens, but everything else is great.
