Seriously, can't really understand managers.
Scrum is very meh. Works in some situations. Usually it stops working when you have maintenance to do. Blergh. -
ODXT33296yEvery methodology has it's use. The problem comes when managers try to make things better by using a popular one. Even when it's obviously not compatible with the project.
Devops is one that got popular recently. And management has been trying to push it wherever they can.
I say just put an actual programmer as the team leader. Let them choose what they know will work for their project. -
Because Scrum adds systematic incentive to prioritise short-term goals over a sustainable architecture. Managers hope that the short-term benefits will keep the boat floating for long enough that they can cash in their bonus. When technical debt finally hits in and sinks the boat, they hope they have another job already.

I have to disagree. During the planning of what goes into the sprint the whole team takes responsibility of what they will achieve during that time. That could include new features or technical debt. If they are being forced into short term goals (features that incur technical debt) I would say the scrum master isn't strong enough and not protecting the team whilst letting the product owner run riot. -
vane112806yIn polish language word is similar to “sram” which means shit dump. And it’s correct from my perspective.

I love scrum, but we execute it in a way it fits us. If somebody thinks its necessary we call each other for a standup to see what everyone is doing news about customers etc.
And I agree with @dan-pud the team should tell the managers what is possible and what not. If they want more work done they should hire someone extra. -
I think that when scrum is used effectively, together with kanban, it makes for some amazing project tracking. But then again, I don't have that much experience in itπ
-
I use scrum to delegate work to juniors. Its amazingly good if you know how to use it. Till date I haven't met a single manager who knows how to use it though. They just use "scrum" as an excuse to give to upper management, while in reality they're just doin whatever the fuck they want kind of micromanagement.
-
Scrum works as long as product/business tells you "what" and team says "how" and "when". Kanban works even better.
But as soon as your ScrumMaster KPIs are based on delivery and pleasing the business you have let the wolf into a sheep's den and things go sideways.
That's what we call frAgile
SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK IS SCRUM, WHY DO MANAGERS KEEP USING IT, WHY DO YOU WANT ME TO MICROMANAGE AND MEET ARBITRARY DEADLINES THAT ARE TANGENTIAL TO THE MAIN PROJECT???!!!?!
