i am not joking about the price

*$6700 if you opt in for the extras...

Edit: just noticed you said it has no changes since the last model... How much research did you actually do?

That is only if you want the 4tb model. The base model stands at $2399, which is admittedly still a lot of money. But I wouldn't shoot for 4tb. I haven't even used 400gb on my 1tb pcs. I have no clue what i would do with 4tb

I'm generally very anti-Apple, but I have to say that you're missing a point here - that it now comes with a 6-core CPU.

Along with processor upgrade, I think there is a finger print sensor also. By the way optimum mbp cost 4k.

    You are stupid.
    Not supporting Apple in anyway.

Well it’s come with i9, that spec is already pricey

Dont compare pcie ssd in MBP with sata ones.

    It's GBps vs MBps

@LastDigitOfPi yes, an SSD that reads at 3GB and writes at 2.5GB a second... Plus the Mac is NVME, apples and oranges

Didn't that version also come with an i9 and more ram or something, at least that's what I had heard, admittedly I haven't looked at the store page myself.

I'm usually the last one to defend Apple, but in this case they cram the highest end stuff in a pretty small & sturdy form factor.

If that's not what you want, don't buy it.

For some people the product can make sense, any freelancer or business with designers/editors/developers wants mobility and ultra high end hardware.

Compared to other premium laptops like XPS and Zenbook, MBP is in the same price range for the same specs, so it comes down to OS preference.

I hate OSX and laptops, but that is not really Apple's fault.

If you are willing to give up mobility, you can indeed build a similar specced desktop for 1/3 of the price — so a lot of people who only work at the office and at home would be better off with 2 workstations.

@hexc Mobile i9 is kind of a gimmick - it's just like the i7 - same number of cores, but with slightly bumped frequencies and a little bit more cache, whereas on desktop it's 8/10 vs 18 cores.
