viking817239yWhat's your goal? I'm assuming web backend, since PHP. Are you alone on the project? What's your expertise - php or c#? Go with the one you know if you are alone. What's your server like - can you host .net, if not then it's obvious. viking817239yWhat's your goal? I'm assuming web backend, since PHP. Are you alone on the project? my goal is to build an ecommerce site but im thinking which language to use since i can use both.

viking817239yI wouldn't go about writing one from scratch. If this is something you want to make money from, get your site out quick - you can always change tech. viking817239yI wouldn't go about writing one from scratch. @krister-alm i don't get u...i am a real coder and i use both languages. when u say pick a real language..what do u mean? is php or c# not good enough for u?
-

@mistafloss Oh so this is a serious question, in that case go with PHP for sure if you have no C background as it has much quicker learning curve and there are tons of e-commerce related content for it available online compared to C#

C#. Why go for a weak messy language when you can go for a corporate beast language!!! What can c# not do?
-

@champion01 it's not the question of what can it NOT do, it's more along the lines of PHP is more common place for e-commerce these days and so should @mistafloss run into any problems he can quickly get back on track whereas C# as you said it is a very robust, clean and corporate alternative which requires a robust and seasoned coder to be able to pull it off correctly.

PHP or C#?
