I'm actually scared of disabling uMatrix. I block almost everything and whitelist only scripts on websites I "trust" or websites I need to access (which means I can't bypass it by reading the source)

Yes, I know, no website is working as intended with my set-up, but I don't care, I feel a bit safer while blocking everything.

@Alice I habe to admit that I had expected far worse.
Maybe I'm blocking ads mentally already, but this was not as bad as I had expected.

But I was more or less forced to see ads since I used another tight controlled laptop for research.

But after this ad I installed ublock Origin right away since the browser was in a vm anyways (BitBox).

@cave I never much into script blocking addons myself.
I just use uBlock Origin amd the duckduckgo privacy addon.

But I guess in terms of privacy it makes more difference in using ddg over google than (un)blocking each side induvidually.

But then Iguess, you learned a ton more about which cdns get used by which sites than me. 😀

I've been using uBlock origin for months, I don't want to be exposed to the internet naked without it.

Using an adblocker is self defence in the name of what's left of my mental health after 28 years of programming.
