Is this the google maps API by any chance?
  • 1
@A-C-E you tried using it too?
  • 3
@sharktits no but someone on my team for this summer camp I’m in was literally looking at that yesterday for our project and was annoyed by it having been changed to paid like a week and 2 days ago

@A-C-E all we need is like a way to show specific businesses on the map and possibly provide directions. If you any alternatives let me know

@A-C-E you tried openstreetmaps or bing maps? I know bing has this functionality and is free, osm shows businesses so i guess they do it too?

I needed street view which was a bit harder bc i couldnt find any open source alternatives to google

@sharktits haven’t looked. OSM sounds interesting

Its because they dont want to break working apps.

@A-C-E osm works pretty good. Used it last year for a feature.

I fucking hate google, they keep changing their APIs again and again.

The Google plus API for Android was depricated and brought back a couple of times πŸ‘ΏπŸ’’

Well soon enought they might know that loophole so better enjoy it while it lasts 😁

@A-C-E for OSM you need an external tile server or run your own. As for external, I'd recommend MapBox

I just had this with the soundcloud api. They have disabled new api applications but I noticed I have two unused api keys. The redirect urls were wrong so they wouldn't work but after contacting support, they changed the urls and now I can get paid woo!
